Cocoa Seashore Mayor Ben Malik Publicizes Resignation After Accepting Job That Precludes Holding Public Workplace

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Seashore Mayor Ben Malik has introduced his resignation after accepting a job that prohibits him from being on the Cocoa Seashore Metropolis Fee.
Malik has been mayor since 2016 and his present time period was set to finish in 2024.
Malik has lived in Cocoa Seashore since 2007, is a graduate of the College of Florida and is Vice President/Industrial Banker at Florida Financial institution of Commerce. He was a Cocoa Seashore Metropolis Commissioner 2012 to 2016 and is a former member of the Cocoa Seashore Planning Board and Cocoa Seashore Residents Academy.
“I’ll definitely miss my colleagues, metropolis workers and residents however have an unbelievable new alternative that I’ve accepted that precludes me from holding public workplace,” stated Malik. “I hope somebody will proceed the trail ahead to information our metropolis.”
Malik informed Information 6 that he shall be employed on Aug. 14, although no date was given for his final day as mayor.
Vice Mayor Keith Capizzi will take over as mayor, and one other commissioner will assume the vice mayor place as the town fee works to nominate a brand new commissioner for the vacant seat.
